Home learning - Friday 18th February

Good morning Year 1 children and parents,

Just a reminder - Please stay indoors tomorrow unless you absolutely have to leave your home.  There will be extremely fast winds of up to 90mph.

See https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/met-office-urges-stay-indoors-6675074

As school is closed for the day here are a few lessons to keep you going.

Literacy

Using the list of verbs below write a few different types of sentence.

Here are some example sentences.

What is that girl painting?

Phil is swimming in the cold water.

Sophie is drinking cold milk from a glass bottle.

Wow! Look at her bending!

Maths

To celebrate STEM week have been looking at triangles.  Yesterday during our PE lesson we made a class triangle.

For maths today I would like you to walk around your house and find as many triangles as you can.  Look for triangles that are hiding in other shapes or on objects.  Write a list of up to 6 triangles or take a few photographs and let me know in the comments.

Reading

Share a story with a grown up.  Read a book from your book bag and write a comment in your yellow reading record.

Have a look at these websites if you would like to read more over the holiday.

Bug club - All children have access to this website.  Check inside reading records for login details.
